The Cub's Lair

Be myself, be happy — An engibear's journey through Cloud Native, AI, and life.

Following the previous two wicked code releases, this time we are looking at Xiaonei’s latest hit game: Happy Farm (开心农场). As always, a quick disclaimer first: this code is purely for educational and research purposes. Please do not deploy it on a server for browser users to exploit, otherwise you will be solely responsible for any consequences! Please respect the hard work of the game developers.

[2009-04-27] Happy Farm has released an urgent notice crack down on players using game bots. While this research was never intended to release a public cheat tool to satisfy players, the code does indeed function as a “bot”. To prevent this post from causing unnecessary legal disputes, I am closing the comment section and stopping updates to the code (the current version is already defunct). Thank you for your understanding. Tech-learning and discussions unrelated to “Happy Farm” will continue, so please check the contact info at the end of this post.

This is a bit of a rant, prompted by a news article I read today that left me absolutely furious. Maybe it’s because I’m a developer myself, but it brought to mind so many similar situations I’ve witnessed, heard of, or personally experienced. It led me to a conclusion that might sound extreme to some, but here it is: right now, technical expertise is simply not respected in China. Real, cutting-edge technology is ignored or never actually put to use, while a bunch of self-proclaimed “scientists” waste their days doing god-knows-what. Academic fraud, fake research papers… what is this world coming to?

I don’t know if this counts as worrying about the fate of the nation or just needless fretting. But the tech environment here desperately needs a clean-up. We need far more genuine, practical technology to actually boost productivity, and far less sycophantic hype creating useless economic bubbles. When will our society learn to be more pragmatic? Every time I think about this, it genuinely breaks my heart.

Unlike in the past, this was my first Spring Festival since entering the workforce. Everything felt so rushed—heading back home, celebrating the New Year, visiting relatives… Before I could even truly experience the holiday vibe, it was already time to head back to work.

I still remember during my school days, even though I studied in another city, we would get our break long before the actual New Year. Back then, a single winter break lasted nearly two months. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but looking back now, it was absolutely amazing! I guess I’ve always been a homebody who’s very attached to my family, so whenever a break rolled around, I couldn’t wait to head home. But now that I’m working, the entire break is only 8 days—and that’s even counting travel time! How can that even be considered a vacation? I really wish I could find a job that offers winter and summer breaks someday. I’m sure that would bring back those wonderful student-day vibes. It would be fantastic!

Recently, a ton of government departments have launched a joint campaign to crack down on internet “vulgarity” (低俗), with major media outlets rushing to report on it. But at the same time, there are also differing voices.

This time, I’ve migrated the blog over to WordPress. I really don’t have enough free time to keep developing my custom-built blog engine anymore, so I finally had to throw in the towel. I’m hoping that down the road, if I can find small pockets of spare time, I might write some plugins! OMG, working full-time really takes away your freedom. Life back in university was pure bliss~

All the legacy posts have been imported. I hope you guys will continue to follow Little Flyer Bear!
