🐻 Who is Little Flying Bear?
I fell down the internet rabbit hole back in 2001 and never looked back. In 2003, I upgraded my online moniker from “Little Bear” to “Little Flying Bear” (小飞熊), proudly claiming the title of the web’s very first flying cub.
Since graduating in 2008, I’ve been hacking away at internet and software development. I’ve worn many hats and held various fancy titles over the years, but “Software Engineer” remains my absolute favorite.
💡 Anti-counterfeit Stamp: To avoid confusion with other flying bears roaming the web, I stamp my work and presence with the tag lfbear.
🛠️ My Hardcore Tech Stack & Expertise
- Cloud Native & Infra: Kubernetes / Docker / Service Mesh (Istio) / Auto-Scaling & Big Data Hybrid Scheduling
- DevOps & CI/CD: GitLab CI / GitOps (ArgoCD) / Jenkins / Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Private Compute Matrix: Deep Learning Multi-GPU Workstation Tinkering / TrueNAS / Physical Hardware Assembly / Remote Optimization
🎨 Hobbies & Passions
- Relentlessly researching and tinkering with curious new things (hardware, hostings, private AI rigs, and anything tech).
- Building high-performance private platforms and automated workflows.
🚀 What Has This Bear Been Up To?
To keep my trail clear and distinct, here is a quick run-through of what I have built and scaled along my journey:
- 🎓 The Early Years
- High School Days: Founded the “Little Bear Studio” (小熊工作室), organizing like-minded friends to write code and publish articles. Released several naive but proud VB utilities like Math Assistant, Physics Formula Calculator, and File Encryptor II.
- University Years: Crafted the Little Flying Bear Downloader, developed Bobtail-Bear 2006 (an open-source PHP download system), built ToyPHP (a lightweight PHP framework), and architected the JOBNEFU 3.0 careers platform for Northeast Forestry University.
- 💼 Professional Journey
- Sina (the domestic web giant colloquially known as “Zhalang”): Worked on web application development before transitioning into core infrastructure development and platform management.
- Vertical Domain Startup A: Joined as a full-stack engineer in the early stages to propel rapid business growth. As we scaled, transitioned back to the backend, established the system R&D team, and had an absolute blast playing with DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Service Mesh.
- Vertical Domain Startup B: Led the cloud-native transition for a massive R&D engineering team of thousands. Successfully pioneered mixed-workload scheduling (web services + AI/Big Data), auto-scaling, and production Service Mesh architecture.
- Overseas Tech Startup: Fully immersed myself in working and living abroad, continuing to dive deep into the DevOps space.
- Currently: Classified 🤫
- 🎒 Entrepreneurship
- Riding the massive startup waves of 2015, I founded vertical ventures in both O2O and IoT sectors before successfully exiting.
